Nick Slinn

Nick Slinn, ACII, Chartered Insurer
General Manager

Nick joined Nordben in 1993, working for a number of years within the International Pension Plan department. He then gained experience in Group Risk Plan administration and was appointed Group Risk Manager in 2001, where he oversaw a significant increase in business volumes.

Nick has been an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute since 2004 and currently holds Chartered Insurer status. He was appointed Senior Manager, Production in 2005, having overall responsibility for all product administration.

On 1 April 2009 Nick was appointed General Manager having responsibility for maintaining oversight over the Company's entire business.

In his private life he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf and travelling.

Paul Lavin

Paul Lavin, BComm, FCA
Financial Controller and Deputy General Manager

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in Ireland in 1995, Paul moved to Guernsey in 1997 and joined one of the Big Four accountancy firms.

Having gained experience in auditing companies in the offshore financial services sector, Paul moved into the captive insurance industry in 2000. He spent the next eight years managing captives and protected cell companies mainly for UK based organisations.

In 2008 he joined Nordben as Financial Controller and later that year was appointed Deputy General Manager. His responsibilities include financial reporting, cash management, internal control and personnel.

He is married and has one daughter.

Sue Garrett

Sue Garrett, ACIS, Int. Dip (Comp.) MICA
Company Secretary, Compliance and Risk Officer

Sue qualified as a Chartered Secretary in 2004, She also has many years' experience in the area of compliance and became a member of the International Compliance Association in 2005. She joined Nordben in the same year as Company Secretary but has since added risk management to her list of duties.

Her main responsibilities include all aspects related to compliance laws and codes, the training of personnel in respect of the appropriate implementation of the laws, rules and standards, the monitoring of company policies and procedures and the documentation of compliance manuals, internal codes of conduct and guidelines.

In the area of risk management she is required to have oversight of the nature and complexity of risks inherent with the Company's business.

Sue is also the Company's General representative, Money Laundering Reporting Officer and Data Protection Officer. She acts as the principal point of contact with Guernsey's regulatory body for the finance sector, the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.

In her private life she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Sean Green

Sean Green, ACII, Chartered Insurer
Senior Manager, Insurance Risk

After posts in retail and logistics management in the UK, Sean moved to Guernsey in 2001 where he started a career in insurance. Since then he has worked in both general and life and pensions markets.

He holds both an undergraduate and a Masters degree, became an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute in 2004 and gained the title of Chartered Insurer in 2005.

Sean's responsibilities with the Company include risk management and operational management of insurance risk functions, including reinsurance and the technical aspects of risk pooling arrangements.

David Reeves

David Reeves, FFA
Senior Manager, Actuarial

David joined the Company in October 2011 after having worked for Scottish Widows in Edinburgh for the previous 11 years. After gaining a first degree in Mathematics from Warwick University, he qualified as a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries in 2008.

At Scottish Widows, he gained experience in the defined benefits, savings & investment pricing, shareholder reporting and individual pension pricing areas.

His responsibilities at Nordben include; the provision of general in house actuarial support, the delivery of quarterly and statutory valuations in conjunction with the Appointed Actuary, the OSCA, product design, product literature review and investment strategy.

David is married and has a young daughter. He enjoys recreational outdoors activities such as walking, cycling and snowboarding.
