G20 confirms Guernsey as a co-operative financial jurisdiction.
The recent London summit of the G20, the forum attended by political heads representing the world's leading economies, announced plans to produce white, grey and black lists categorising jurisdictions in accordance with their level of compliance with internationally agreed tax standards.
Guernsey's Chief Minister was delighted to learn that Guernsey is to be placed on the "white list" denoting substantial commitment and compliance with the agreed tax standards.
Guernsey's long standing position as a credible and well regulated finance centre has been given a boost by the recognition of the G20, and is positive news for Guernsey's finance industry and for international investors.
Other jurisdictions who have not yet implemented the actions necessary to comply will appear on a "grey list", whereas those jurisdictions who have made no commitment to comply will be black listed.
